Junior SQL DBA

A highly established financial services based in the heart of West Bromwich are looking for a Junior SQL Database Administrator to join their highly expanding team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years commercial experience as a Junior SQL DBA and will have worked with SQL Server 2012 - 2016.

Responsibilities

  • Support and administer applications and database systems in compliance with SLAs.
  • Assist in the delivery of large, small and IT business as usual change.
  • Assist in providing 1st line support for application and databases associated with Business critical systems.
  • Assist Projects with planning, building, testing, and deployment and support requirements set out by the Project Manager.
  • Assist in maintaining applications and database systems of internal control in accordance with the security policies.
  • Assist, plan and implement quarterly, half-yearly and annual processes (e.g. Capacity planning, Licence reconciliations, Database patching, Software releases and Roadmaps).
  • Assist in recovering databases and related systems during Disaster Recovery Tests and ensuring continuity in business in the event of a disaster itself.

Skills

  • Minimum 2 years commercial experience working as a Junior SQL Database Administrator
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 - 2016
  • Some exposure with Oracle would be appreciated (Not essential)
  • Working knowledge of T-SQL and preferably PL\SQL
  • Working knowledge of security and administration of MS SQL Server and preferably Oracle (but not essential).
