Junior .Net Developer

We are actively looking to secure a Junior .Net Developer to join Experis as one of our expert consultants, delivering services to our clients.

Job Purpose

Working as part of a cross functional Agile delivery team your input and expertise is required to develop new products and components using C#.NET and Oracle, develop and maintain existing C#.NET applications and provide ongoing support for our live sites.

There will also be the opportunity to potentially work on new products and components written in Java.

Key Responsibilities:

You will have excellent problem solving skills, be adaptable, innovative and great at finding solutions to technical problems. Excellent communication skills are essential.

A focus on delivery will be key, along with great attention to detail and the ability to prioritise work according to business focus.

The core responsibilities for this role are outlined as follows:

  • Work as part of a cross functional Agile delivery team using XP practices.
  • Developing and maintaining existing C#.NET applications
  • As a department we are undergoing a transformation and moving away from .NET towards Java. As such there will be opportunities to also work on developing new products and components written in Java, and so we require someone who is flexible and willing to learn new skills.
  • Working as part of a team to achieve repeatable success and maintaining a high level of craftsmanship.
  • Providing ongoing support for our live applications

Essential Skills:

  • B.Sc. or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • Some previous hands on experience (1+ years) of the software development lifecycle.
  • C#.NET (1+ years)

Desirable Skills:
* M.Sc. or equivalent in relevant discipline.

  • Developing in a Continuous Integration and Deployment environment.
  • Familiar with good design and software craftsmanship principles (SOLID, Clean Code, KISS, DRY, YAGNI, etc).
  • Enjoys new challenges, able to be proactive, reactive to change and comfortable to continually explore and learn.
  • Ability to write & run SQL in an Oracle environment
  • Oracle PL/SQL development
  • Winforms and WPF
  • HTML5 and Javascript
  • TDD and good understanding of unit test frameworks
