Java Developer - SQL / Oracle - AWS - AWS SDK's - DevOps - XML - JSON - SVN or GIT - Financial Services - TDD - Cloud Migration

My client, a leading technology and consulting services organisation are seeking a highly skilled JAVA+ SQL/ Oracle developer to work on a large, financial service clients Cloud migration COE.

The successful candidate will possess strong Java expertise including experience with object oriented languages and common java frameworks.

Key Skills:

  • XML, JSON, Relational Databases, RESTful web services, Unix Command Line, SVN or Git
  • Knowledge and experience with AWS SDKs
  • Mass migration & application transformation experience
  • Good understanding of AWS Technologies
  • Very good understanding of DevOps , Microservices and SOA
  • Banking / financial Services background highy desirable

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience with search engines / nosql platforms, such as: Solr. Fast ESP, Endeca, Autonomy MongoDB, Cassandra
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Experience with DevOps Suite of Tools (Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, TeamCity)
  • Experience contributing to an open source project.
  • Experience with data analytics

Key duties:

  • Support the development, test and implementation of re-coding of in house applications to support the cloud readiness and reference architectures
  • Help facilitate software quality measures - TDD, Peer Review and Pair Programming
  • Work and collaborate with enterprise and technical architects in the process of solution design
  • Creation of re-usable artefacts, templates and tool kits that would be leveraged for the execution of large scale cloud migration in a factory model
  • Responsibility for capacity planning and estimation
  • Troubleshoot issues, see problems through to resolution
  • Investigate and research tools and technologies for achieving goals
  • Communicate effectively with team members, customers and stakeholders
