Java Developer is required by prestigious organisation in their state-of-the-art Didcot offices.

As the Java Developer you will be join an established team developing the companies' range of software products. The successful candidate will work on the maintenance of existing products and the development/enhancements of current offerings as requested by clients.

Essential Skills for the Java Developer:

  • Hold or be eligible for SC clearance
  • 2+ years' experience in software development in Java
  • Good knowledge of object-orientation, patterns and software design
  • Genuine interest in software development and emerging technologies
  • Positive can do attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Proven track record of meeting accessibility standards, clean UX and cross browser development

Responsibilities for the Java Developer include:

  • Follow the software development lifecycle including testing, unit testing and peer review to ensure high quality that matches design goals
  • Work closely with Lead Architect to ensure development process is applied
  • Proactively assist in improving and refining the software development process as the technology and software changes over time
  • Advise the lead architect on technology and software advancements that may benefit or need incorporating in the software
  • Contribute to reviews and design meetings in both a user-case and technical capacity
  • Ensure the software is operating at the required accessibility standards
  • Provide software expertise to the Consulting and Sales teams
  • Solve critical customer issues via technical support
