IT Systems Support Engineer - Banking - London - 2nd & 3rd Line Systems & Infrastructure Support

Microsoft Server & Desktop (7 & 10) Genealogy, Windows Servers 2008/2012 and Server 2016, VMware ESXi, Citrix, Advanced knowledge of SQL, PC Builds, Active Directory, PowerShell and Storage, Messaging with MS Exchange and Active Directory, Networking, LAN/WAN, SCCM, DFS/DFSR, GPO, SCCM, DNS, DHCP, IP Telephony-SIP, Open DNS and VLAN's, Project Management with ITIL and/or Prince.

To £55,000 + Excellent Benefits which include Health (Family Cover Option), Pension, Life & Income Protection Insurance.

The client is Financial Services and Investment organisation who are actively seeking a career minded, professional, ethical and confident IT Technician to support their Helpdesk and Desktop functions. Based out of their London HQ in the heart of London, in this this role you will be responsible for the maintenance and support of all IT operating and infrastructure systems.

You will ideally have Banking and/or Financial environment experience and be pivotal in the IT Infrastructure Team assisting in the design and implementation of changes within the IT infrastructure and offer input and recommendations for the design and implementations of technology for future growth and IT operational improvement.

Key skills and technical expertise required:

  • Solid Microsoft Server & Desktop (7 & 10) Genealogy a must with MSCE highly desirable
  • Experienced with Windows Servers 2008/2012 and with Server 2016 highly desirable
  • Very strong VMware expertise required with VCP 5 and/or VCP 6 highly desirable
  • VMware ESXi - design, configuration, implementation and support VMWare and Hyper-V.
  • Excellent Citrix exposure with CCA and/or CCEA highly desirable
  • Focused experience as a 2nd/3rd line technician.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, PC Builds, Active Directory, PowerShell and Storage.
  • Excellent Messaging expertise with MS Exchange using Active Directory.
  • High-Level Networking experience with LAN/WAN, SCCM, DFS/DFSR, GPO, SCCM, DNS, DHCP, IP Telephony-SIP, Open DNS and VLAN's.
  • Project Management experience is also key working under ITIL and/or Prince Frameworks.

Prerequisites are a calm and methodical approach to you work, a strong service ethic and a client is king attitude along with a natural willingness to help your group and customers.


  • An exceptional customer service skill dealing from Directors and PA's, Traders and Broker's to 3rd Line Support staff.
  • Excellent team working skills and relationship skills with users and colleagues
  • Emphasis always on the customer to ensure they receive an exceptional level of service.
  • Self-motivated and has a positive attitude.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
