An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an IT Systems Manager for my client located in London to oversee the daily technology operations within a rapidly growing and evolving environment.

The selected candidate will report into the Head of IT, and other Technology teams. The IT Systems Manager will be part of a key role in the design, management, and ongoing enhancement of IT and business systems. The IT Systems Manager will have the opportunity to contribute towards the definition of the Digital Transformation Strategy and will work closely with software vendors, managed support partners and developers.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage the starter, movers, and leavers process
  • Manage incidents, service requests, change requests, and problem management tickets
  • Mange the major incident management process and ensure the business communication is managed effectively
  • Manage the IT asset register, device rollout and maintain stock levels
  • Analyse and monitor current system performance and make suggestions for improvements
  • Ensure systems are up to date and fit for purpose by engaging with business stakeholders and third-party suppliers
  • Manage super users and end-users access controls across all business applications
  • Maintain documentation library covering systems, process mappings and data flows for all systems is kept up to date
  • Ensure all systems are carefully maintained (Administration/Patching/Upgrades)
  • Create reports on request for senior managers
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external auditors
  • Ensure all network devices, servers and workstations security levels are aligned to company policies
  • Manage application security across all sites including cloud apps
  • Develop documentation, build test procedures, and define resources to deliver service continuity in the event of a loss of the datacentre, application platform or office networks
  • Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value

The Candidate:

  • Experience and knowledge of systems development lifecycle concepts used to plan, develop, implement, operate, and maintain IT systems and services
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with an emphasis on Windows 10
  • Experience in working with Microsoft 365 ecosystem and Mimecast email security systems
  • Experience implementing, running, improving business systems example: HR and rostering systems
  • Manage major incidents, assimilate large amounts of information, and present it in summary form to stakeholders together with recommendations
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Azure and other cloud technologies
  • Be able to demonstrate examples of working across other departments to add value and translate their business requirements into solutions
  • Possess excellent communication skills with a proactive approach ensuring stakeholders are kept up to date
  • Ability to work successfully within a geographically distributed team and to build effective working relationships
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the business up to director level
  • Personable, diplomatic, and approachable, with an enthusiastic and motivational nature and an overall passion for service excellence
