Overview

Our client, a leading international information and communication technology provider is looking for a IT Support Technician to join their subsidiary, ACT who are a proven leader in the design, build and management of smart transaction systems. You will be developing the back office systems that underpin smart transaction systems in our bespoke products. You will be involved in development of new features, enhancements to existing functionality, defect investigation/resolution and design documentation.


Key Accountabilities

  • Manage user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking
  • Walk customers through installing applications and computer peripherals
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting where necessary
  • Manage end user hardware estate ensuring assets are tracked and accounted for
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Help create technical documentation and manuals
  • Deploy and track software in use across the environment
  • Ensure software in use is authorised, correctly licenced and supported
  • Ensure OS and software patches are deployed and tracked in a timely manner
  • Ensure backups are completed successfully and tested regularly
  • Adhere to standard processes in accordance with Cyber Essentials and ISO standards
  • Monitor and respond to audit reports generated from internal solutions
  • Perform tasks to setup and on-board new users process
  • Complete the leaver process to revoke access when users leave the organisation

Key Performance Indicators

  • Previous work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Mac OS/Linux environments
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and Office 365
  • Experience of Solarwinds and SCCM would be beneficial
  • Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners and WiFi
  • Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • Customer-oriented attitude
