IT Support Engineer Location: Cambridge Job Type: Permanent, Full Time We are currently recruiting an IT Support Engineer at a world-leading Engineering company. The company is listed on the FTSE250 and works in the defence and aerospace industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent IT skills and experience to join the team to maintain and support the computer systems and hardware via the service desk. You will be responsible for - · Installing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and upgrading the hardware and equipment for optimum performance · Documenting all instances of failure, repair, installation and removal · Helping implement any new computer projects and installations · Providing training to end users where necessary · Sometimes installing and configuring necessary software for end user · Diagnosing and resolve complex PC problems · Responding to incoming tickets, calls and emails re problems · Testing PC performance and providing reports You will have the following- · A formal qualification in IT/Computing would be highly desirable · Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware · Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (2013/2016) · Excellent understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP) · Excellent interpersonal skills · Excellent problem solving and analytical mindset You will be working closely with colleagues, in a sometimes high pressured environment so your ability to work well as part of a team is crucial. You may occasionally need to lift moderately heavy packages (computers).
