Job Description:

The client are one of the UK's leading independent provider of IT infrastructure services, enabling users and their businesses.

Their IT division is looking to recruit a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer, who will report to the IT Service Manager, based at the Stratford Upon Avon Office.

The successful post-holder will act as a technical resource within IT department and play a key role in supporting and helping maintain our existing customer base with their IT infrastructure, systems and services within SLA guidelines adhering to ITIL best practices.

You will need be familiar and confident with Windows Server & Desktop, Virtualised, Cloud and Cisco networking technologies. On offer is a key position working on a broad range of the latest technology, with a team of talented colleagues.

Your day to day responsibilities will consist of:

  • Support, configuration, maintenance, and support of infrastructure and systems
  • Offer expertise within the team for the resolution of 2nd Line technical incidents and problems
  • Making a significant contribution in delivering value in terms of improving customer service & satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Support, coach and mentor the more junior members of the team, leading by example
  • Develop, produce and maintain IT documentation and following IT procedures as required Desired

Strong knowledge or a good understanding in these key areas will be advantageous:

  • Microsoft Server technologies; MS Server, Active Directory Services, Group Policy
  • Windows Remote Desktop
  • Virtualisation - VMware and/or Hyper-V
  • Server Hardware: HPE & Dell Servers.
  • vSphere, HA, Citrix XenApp
  • Microsoft Azure, Office 365
  • Backup/Archiving technologies; Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Server Networking including TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell)
  • Disaster Recovery, Replication and Recovery services
  • Storage technologies: SAN (HPE)
  • Experience supporting SME / Enterprise level infrastructures
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to achieve prompt resolution
  • Strong experience of incident and problem management including 3rd party service providers
  • Capable of managing concurrent projects
  • Solid operational understanding of service management standards and tools; ITIL V3 Foundation qualified
  • Industry recognised qualifications including but not limited to Microsoft Certified (MCSA, MCSE)
