Working for one of the UK's leading engineering support services organisations you will provide the day to day interface between the customer and the internal IT provider at their nominated site. The role will also act as the escalation point for all issues of an IT nature.

The role requires the individual to manage a small team with additional support provided from the Customer Relationship Manager and other support functions as required.

This post shall be based at the Valley/Shawbury/Cranwell facilities, with requirements to travel to supported out sites as and when required

Main Tasks

  • Management of IT Customer Support team involved in the delivery of the ICT service
  • Assist in the production of management reports as and when required
  • Escalation point for local site ICT operational issues
  • Manage change process
  • Manage all orders placed locally with IS on behalf of the customer
  • Responsible for the delivery of equipment/systems that fall outside of BIS/Picasso responsibility
  • Responsible for new starters (students and staff) and leavers - IT support
  • Manage and prepare all assets required for deployment
  • Assist with all technical refresh planning to ensure minimal interruption to service delivery.
  • Provide technical and operational input into bid and future package work where required.
  • Liaise closely with Company and Customer commercial and finance teams to understand contractual and financial elements.

Key Skills

  • Good overall understanding of IT and its relationship to the business.
  • Customer liaison / relationship experience.
  • Previous team leadership experience.
  • Good commercial awareness - considers the commercial impact of all decisions
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to influence perceptions
  • Ability to build effective relationships both internally and with the customer
