We have an excellent opportunity for Lead Interaction Designer to join one of our major government clients based in Croydon, the Home Office.

As an Interaction Design Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of Interaction Designers to design services focused on user needs.

Operating within the Immigration portfolio of work, you'll work closely with service managers, programme directors and senior stakeholders to resource teams, resolve problems and develop future projects.

You will also lead the interaction design on a service or programme of work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of researchers and developers, to deliver world-class, user-centred services for the public and civil servants.

Experience required:

  • Have experience of leading design and managing designers
  • Be able to talk about and advocate for user-centred design in a way that other people understand
  • Be confident in sketching and prototyping on paper and in html
  • Know how to design accessible, secure, responsive user interfaces
  • Understand and implement design patterns and standards with attention to detail
  • Influence both design and organisational strategy and communicate clearly with a range of audiences and stakeholders
  • Advocate for user-centred design and explain design decisions to senior management
  • Apply an agile mindset through all aspects of your work, like planning, design, management and execution
