PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

This role has responsibility for the performance of a range of Insurance products offered by VWFS. As a result the role holder will be required to manage both internal and external stakeholders / suppliers and be key to achieving the required plan result. It is essential that the role holder has extensive insurance industry experience in order to ensure that decision making is technically valid and in the appropriate context. Significant commercial awareness together with a sound understanding of the practical application of compliance requirements is also required. This is not a marketing role.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Result

  • Ensure plan revenue and income results are achieved.
  • Develop / maintain reporting that clearly identifies performance in each market or channel and utilise this to inform decision making required to achieve plan objectives.

Technical

  • Provide technical Insurance expertise to represent VWFS' interests and requirements with Insurer partners and suppliers.

Supplier Management

  • Ensure supplier propositions are accurately delivered.
  • Ensure service levels are achieved.

Product Innovation

  • Work in partnership with VWFS Marketing to understand and develop Insurance growth opportunities.
  • Deliver new products in line with overall strategy.

Business Change

  • Utilise clear project management methodology to deliver change activity as necessary.

Compliance

  • Ensure Insurance activity remains compliant at all times.

Planning

  • Contribute to annual and ongoing financial planning

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • A thorough working knowledge of the Insurance industry gained through experience in a variety of technical and development / operational roles.
  • ACII qualified or significant progress towards.
  • Significant experience of Insurance change initiatives particularly scheme implementation
  • Understanding of key operational compliance aspects - TCF, Contract certainty, etc
  • Experience of alternative risk transfer models, retention, captives and the like.
