Instructional Designer - eLearning



3 Month Contract

The Instructional Designer will be responsible for supporting the Engineering Training Manager in the Subsea & Drilling organization. In this role, an experienced Instructional Designer will create learning content in both classroom and online (e-learning) formats. You will develop new technical training and keep existing training material current, updated and available. The role requires experience of liaising and collaborating with Subject Matter Experts and creating storyboards and scripts. Experience of using an authoring tool such as Captivate or Articulate Storyline is essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Creation of storyboards and scripts in Microsoft PowerPoint and/or Word
  • Design and develop a range of content including classroom (e.g. PowerPoint slides, manuals, guides, templates etc.)
  • Author content using e-learning content authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline)
  • Liaise with subject matter experts and trainers on multiple training projects
  • Assist in the quality assurance of learning content produced to required standards
  • Liaise with clients in relation to learning and development initiative and outcomes
  • Keep abreast of current learning theories, instructional design approaches and learning technologies
  • Ensure learning projects are delivered on time and to budget
  • Edit and embed video, audio and graphics

Candidate's requirements

  • Instructional Design and/or e-learning content author role
  • Demonstrable experience of producing learning plans, storyboards, training materials
  • Proficiency in Articulate storyline 2 and Adobe CS - Essential
  • Client/SME facing experience with ability to build rapport quickly
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with excellent time management skills
