Insight and Marketing Effectiveness Manager - Abingdon (Oxfordshire) - Initial 5- month contract

Insight and Marketing Effectiveness Manager required to join a reputable ICT support and teaching company based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire on an initial 5-month contract.

You will be responsible overall for building and running a high quality marketplace and customer insight capability, together with establishing a robust analytics capability to improve marketing effectiveness.

Job Responsibilities

The Insight and Marketing Effectiveness Manager is responsible overall for building and running a high quality marketplace and customer insight capability, together with establishing a robust analytics capability to improve marketing effectiveness. Specific responsibilities include

  • Delivering marketplace and customer insight to inform existing business priorities and future business development.

  • Building a high quality insight capability including horizon scanning, competitor analysis, continuous and ad-hoc research tools. Optimise internal capability and establish a network of external providers to support delivery.

  • Effectively planning, managing and reviewing a programme of insight projects utilising both internal and external resources to ensure efficient and cost effective delivery

  • Establishing and operating a robust marketing analytics capability to drive improved effectiveness of marketing activity across both online and offline channels, working together with both internal resources (Marketing Services team based offshore) and external resources as appropriate

  • Championing data and insight led decision making across the Marketing team and with key partners such as the Product and Sales teams, including retrospective analyses, in-flight metrics and defining appropriate benchmarks and success criteria.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Market and Customer Insight: Defining objectives and shaping appropriate approaches using primary and secondary research, qualitative and quantitative methodologies to deliver powerful and actionable insights

  • Marketing effectiveness measurement: defining a robust and appropriate framework for effectiveness measurement of marketing activities, across multiple channels both online and offline. Comfortable working with and shaping marketing analytics.

  • Supplier Management: identifying, building and managing a network of external providers to support delivery which adds value and is efficient and cost effective

  • Communication & Influencing: excellent communication skills with a high standard of written English. Professional, presentable, dependable and self-motivated. Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.

  • Planning and Organisation: excellent understanding of marketing and project planning techniques. Ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously, accurately and according to priority

  • B2B experience highly desirable
