Infrastructure Specialist (CCNP-SP/JNCIS-SEC) - Central London - Initial 6 months

Infrastructure Specialist (CCNP-SP/JNCIS-SEC) required to join a Telecommunications and Intranet Service Provider based in Central London. This is an initial 6 month contract with the view to extend.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and updating network design documents, Low level design / Detail design.
  • Holding Technical workshops and engaging with key stakeholders, gathering detailed design network requirements.
  • Developing configurations templates.
  • Supporting NOC engineers.
  • Analysing design requirements based on real world business scenarios.
  • Mentoring and training junior members, support teams developing understanding of the network.
  • Maintaining existing network standards and models , developing new standards and models where needed

Attributes/Technical

  • Years of Experience 7+ in a design role covering LAN, WAN and NG WAN.
  • Understanding and applying MEF 2.0 Concepts in a carrier Ethernet NGN network.
  • Advanced routing knowledge including OSPF/ISIS/BGP (mBGP)
  • Advanced knowledge in a service provider operating BGP and complex BGP peering policies.
  • Advanced knowledge of network design concept and principles
  • Capability to discuss, design and develop advanced network concepts, routing, security, data centre and IP Multicast complex architectures in both IPv4 and IPv6 environments.
  • Knowledge of IP core , Aggregation/edge and remote access technologies, layer 2 and layer 3 VPNS e.g. L2 Pseudo wires, VPLS
  • Experience and working with Next generation technologies such as MPLS including, MPLS-TE, MPLS-TP, LDP, RSVP, traffic engineering, IPV4 and IPV6.
  • Experience working with a unified / Seamless MPLS (RFC 3107)
  • Experience in IP backbone, IP backhaul design and implementation.
  • Data Centre Design including IP fabric technologies , VXLAN/LISP
  • Experience with and developing cloud technologies within an NGN network.
  • Experience working with advanced security concepts and best practices, particularly Cisco / Juniper and interfacing with a NGN infrastructure.
  • Experience of integrating and consolidating large scale network infrastructures.

Professional Qualification

  • Cisco certified Network Professional - Service Provider(CCNP-SP)
  • CCIE routing and switching is very desirable
  • Juniper Network Certified Professional Security (JNCIS-SEC)
  • MEF 2.0
