One of the UK's leading IT solution providers is currently experiencing an exciting period of growth and is therefore looking to bolster the existing IT team with a new Infrastructure Manager. With numerous IT projects coming up, this role will be pivotal to timely and efficient delivery.

The purpose of this role is to work with the Head of Engineering to provide a focus for management and reporting within the team.

  • Ensure that infrastructure services are delivered to SLA and that appropriate automation, monitoring and alerting is in place.
  • Manage and report on the workload of the team
  • Man-management of 12 technical engineers - Provide a formal staff management function
  • Ensure that requests for support logged through the help desk are assigned, responded to and resolved in a timely manner
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of one or more areas of technology within the group's remit so as to be able to take the lead in development and implementation of those technologies in response to business needs
  • Plan and develop processes for the design, monitoring, measurement, reporting and continuous improvement of service and component availability including the implementation of new availability techniques and methods
  • Follow-up and Monitoring - Checking progress against targets, reporting as necessary and taking action to resolve exceptions
  • Providing direction to others as required

Position and Person Requirements

  • Experience of Infrastructure Management including some or all of the following;

- Office 365, Data Centre, Networks, Unified comms, Virtualisation/Cloud (ideally AWS/Azure), Windows/Linux Server, Security

  • Man-management - proven experience of managing a technical IT team
  • Must still be technically 'hands on' and willing to get involved on a techncial level when required
  • Extensive knowledge and practical application of ITIL
  • Experience of cloud migration
  • Management of Business Continuity Plans
