My client requires an experienced Infrastructure/Technical Designer to allow them to continue to deliver business critical project work.

Responsibilities

  • Operates within an programme environment working alongside other Infrastructure Designers and Enterprise/Solution Architects.
  • Responsible for infrastructure level solutions/designs focusing on application and service transfer/migration and service decommission.
  • Translates high level requirements and leveraging architecture building blocks where required/appropriate into detailed designs and/or specifications actionable and deliverable by build and project delivery functions.
  • Will make recommendations for purchasing new hardware and software for Programme specific deliveries
  • Contributes to architecture development and planning for the programme including influence on decision making.
  • Will provide a lead role in the delivery projects within the programme (leads work activities, consulted by others on work, influences direction of work).

  • Infrastructure design patterns, ensuring the best value use of our technologies.
  • Design processes (including template artefacts) and standards.
  • Evaluate line of business solution projects to determine whether;
  • Infrastructure design contribution required
  • Project needs escalated to architecture for decision making or provision of new reusable technology platform
  • Impacts to service and operational support are understood
  • Recognition, recording and management of technology related risks for the technology, ensuring that risk are managed to meet the risk appetite for the Programme and organisation as a whole.
  • Ensuring that IT Policies are met or delivered through strategic work activities (i.e. Maintaining IT Currency, meeting Security Policies) to ensure that the strategies are valid and correct and deliver to policy.
  • Participate in design reviews.
