Our central government client are currently looking for an experienced Information Risk Senior Officer (SC Cleared)

The request for Information Risk Senior Officer is to help mature the information risk space and for resources with specialist skills to develop the practice within this area.

The role

  • Collect assurance evidence from a variety of sources including face to face interviews (up to DD level), review of documentation pertinent to the subject of the review, and the construction and execution of test programmes.
  • Analyse assurance evidence to derive conclusions and formulate advice/recommendations to improve/mitigate vulnerabilities and enhance efficiency, effectiveness and delivery of organisational objectives.
  • Draft written reports to communicate the conclusions of assurance work to management and negotiating with management (up to DD level) to secure agreement to the content of these reports and to action plans.
  • Follow up with the business the implementation of agreed actions.
  • Contribute to the development of briefing papers and provide draft papers for relevant committees.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to foster collaborative working.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of information management/corporate governance
  • Knowledge of risk management principles in an organisation wide context.
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to the work of Central Government/Law Enforcement.
  • Risk management.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Planning and organisational skills.
  • Information technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Drafting/report writing skills.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to present business information in a variety of formats.
