ILS Manager - Plymouth

A market leading FTSE 100 Defence organisation is currently recruiting for an ILS Manager to take on a permanent position ASAP. The company is highly regarded for its employee recognition and vital position in today's market place. You will be a driven individual who is looking to work in a fast paced environment with supportive team in a diverse and challenging environment.

Working within the Communication, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (CISR) section of the business your primary role will be the development, procurement and long term support of military communications and information systems. The demand on the ILS Group's capacity is steadily growing and an opportunity exists for candidates to join the organisation and develop their skills in the specialist discipline of supportability engineering.

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:

To lead the delivery of supportability related engineering and project outputs for In Service and new-to-service systems. In support of this purpose, the ILS Manager will:

  • Develop strategies, plans, and project control documents to successfully implement ILS analysis and delivery activities.
  • Be responsible for the direction and conduct of Supportability Analysis activities (including AR&M) and the timely delivery of outputs in accordance with defined contract requirements.
  • Develop and document optimised Support Solutions capable of sustaining equipment and system operations.
  • Provide ILS technical leadership, and have delegated authority over less experienced team members to support both their effective working, and their development within a structured capability framework.
  • Undertake the appropriate control and reporting activities for designated projects.
  • Be aware of innovations and developments (e.g. analysis tools, techniques, products and processes) having the potential to improve the existing delivery of supportability related services, or be exploited in the delivery of new products and services.

The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience:

  • Be qualified to degree level, or equivalent, in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics based discipline.
  • Have relevant experience in the planning, analysis and production of ILS related project outputs, preferably for military systems (desirable)
  • Have excellent technical report writing and communications skills.
  • Eligible for SC Clearance (essential)
