Hull & Systems Surveillance Engineer - Permanent

A brand new opportunity has arisen for an ambitious candidate to get a broad range of experience in a FTSE100 company that is leading the delivery of In Service Support to a variety of Nations and Naval Vessels across the world.

This opportunity is on a full-time permanent basis which can be primarily based in Keynsham - Bristol, Plymouth or Faslane. The role may require occasional travel to our other customer sites.

Our client is looking for a talented and meticulous person with a strong Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) background to join our Technical Team.

  • The successful candidate will schedule, manage survey returns and produce Summary Reports for the H&SSR work packages assigned to them in addition to reviewing and updating Master H&SSR Documents;
  • To achieve this, the successful candidate will work closely with Ships Staff, relevant Subject Matter Experts and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements

To be successful in applying for this position you will:

  • Have a structured approach to your work, with an eye for detail;
  • Take ownership of your responsibilities and motive others to do the same;
  • Be able to identify opportunities for improvement and lead changes effectively.

  • Learn the skills and techniques required to express complex arrangements and systems in a way that non specialists understand.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Honours Degree in a relevant STEM discipline; or
  • Qualification to NVQ4 /HND / BTEC Level 5 in a relevant STEM discipline may be acceptable augmented by significant experience in a relevant engineering field.
  • Incorporated Engineer, or have a working plan in place demonstrating how this will be achieved with an appropriate engineering institution.
