HSE Advisor - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Salary: c. £40-45,000 + 5% bonus, generous benefits package (25 days annual leave, private medical and dental cover, pension scheme, childcare vouchers, etc.)

HSE Advisor - this exciting opportunity has just become available with a global leading pharmaceuticals manufacturing company with excellent reputation in the industry.

In this role, you will provide professional health, safety and environmental advice and support to managers and staff across the site to ensure a safe and healthy working environment in compliance with UK legislation, Corporate Requirements and current industry good practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide a professional, effective and robust site based Occupational Hygiene (OH) service for a range of chemical / physical agents including: API / non API chemical exposure (dust / vapour), noise exposure, radiation exposure (working with the site Radiation Protection Advisor), ergonomic considerations.
  • Provide site strategic direction for OH; establish and maintain site OH strategy and annual OH plan
  • Provide coaching / mentoring / support to site HSE role holders including line management, safety reps and risk assessors
  • Undertake specific risk assessments as part of the site risk assessment programme including ergonomic risk assessments
  • Generate training material and deliver training on a variety of HSE topics including OH
  • Provide guidance and support to line management and employees on a variety of HSE / OH topics

REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge and application of UK health and safety legislation applicable to the Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Knowledge and application of Occupational Hygiene within a pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing environment
  • Dust / vapour monitoring; noise monitoring
  • Working with radiation sources; ergonomic / ULD assessments
  • Ability to analyse and interpret OH data to determine suitable and cost effective solutions
