About the role

Here at Babcock we are currently have an opportunity for a HR Team Leader for a newly created position within the team based at our large site in Rosyth.

As our HR Shared Service continues to develop and streamline the administration processes across our two sites in Rosyth and Clyde, this role is to manage the day to day customer service delivery of the HR shared service provision for our HR colleagues as well as our line managers.

This role will be to ensure that the shared service provision continually strives to work and deliver to the agreed standards and timescales set out by the business. Continually seeking continuous improvement to the service provided and adhering to HR policies and processes.

You will be required to apply your HR experience and knowledge to a range of situations, problems, and issues and provide first line advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures to the team, the wider HR function and customers. This role will be required to work alongside the HRA's, HRBP's and Line Managers in operationalising, integrating, and delivering HR policy and procedures and ensure employees and line management are fully aware and appraised of their legal obligation and the approach of the business to HR matters.

This is a line management role, leading a team of 12 staff, and therefore you will be required to undertake performance reviews, ensure your teams CPD as well as measuring and monitoring our adherence to deadlines and set KPI's.

What do I need to do the role?

You should have a high level of knowledge of HR processes and policies including employee terms and conditions of employment, recruitment and global mobility related procedures are essential. An Employee Relations background would be beneficial

  • Have good working knowledge of the HR Systems
  • Sound management and team skills
  • Industrial relations experience is desirable
  • Methodical and organised and ability to operate under own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of employees
  • Customer focused

What else do I need to know?

  • Typically requires membership to the CIPD and would benefit from holding or working towards a Level 5 CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.
  • The role would align to Band 2 of the CIPD Professional Map.
