HR Coordinator - Maternity Cover

Global Engineering Organisation - up to £26,434

A leading engineering organisation within the defence marine industry is looking to appoint a HR Coordinator to work from their Rosyth office. The role will coordinate the activities of the HR Business Partners and HR Managers. You will be responsible for coordinating HR meetings such as attendance reviews, disciplinary and grievance meetings. You will be responsible for maintaining the HR case log and populating with long term sick employees. You will prepare investigation packs, produce contracts and coordinate all HR activity. In addition to this, you will participate in group improvement initiatives and update HR policies.

Accountabilities

  • Advise on, maintain and update Company policies in line with legislative changes. Ensure employees and line management are kept fully aware of their legal obligations and the approach of the business to HR matters. Update any handbooks as necessary
  • Track and monitor temporary contracts, annual leave usage etc and issue reminders to the workforce to ensure the carry forward of annual leave is within Company policy
  • Provide operational advice on a range of employment and performance issues. Update the HR case log with cases of long term sick and schedule attendance and capability reviews on behalf of the HRBP. Collate and issue investigation and disciplinary packs in advance of all hearings.
  • Ensure effective absence management by monitoring and reporting on long term sicknesses in a timely manner and scheduling attendance reviews. Escalate all issues of management non-conformance, ensure trigger points are managed efficiently and in line with process and address any patterns of absence that cause concern. Provide advice where appropriate.
  • Provide support to the HRBPs and HRMs, as required, to ensure departmental or sector HR obligations and objectives are achieved. Project work may be required to be undertaken along with your day job.

Requirements

  • Currently hold or working towards ACIPD
  • Some experience of a HR environment
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workloads
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
