We're looking for someone dynamic, ambitious and eager to make an impact to become our next HR Business Partner (HRBP).


The difference our new HR Business Partner will make
Defence Systems Technology (DST) is transforming and we need you to support our key leaders in forging new paths, and leading their teams through exciting, but sometimes challenging change. You'll be a key partner in implementing our ambitious people agenda throughout DST, part of the Marine Sector of Babcock International. As part of the HR leadership team, you'll partner the Programmes and Production departments and will provide progressive HR expertise on all people matters including:
* Supporting the development of the people agenda, championing employee engagement initiatives, and acting.
as an advocate for your business area.
* Developing and implementing the associated people plan, initiatives and processes for your business area, to build a healthy, high-performing organisation.
* Building strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders, including trade union and employee representatives and colleagues across the sector, to deliver our strategic objectives.
* Coaching managers to improve their impact as leaders, and enabling them to resolve complex employee cases, seeking legal advice where required.
* Leading and developing the HR Advisor for the business area and supporting the wider People Team.
* Supporting and developing internal communications.
* Assisting in the development of bids and leading the people elements (TUPE or otherwise) of the transition to business delivery.
* Encouraging diversity of thought and promoting an inclusive working environment.

Who we're looking for
You're someone who brings big ideas and solves complex problems with simple and elegant solutions. You continuously champion high performance, challenge the status quo, actively seek out different perspectives and speak up.
Experience
* Proven HR Business Partner, with generalist experience including resourcing/talent acquisition, reward, talent development, change management, and employee relations.
* Demonstrates commercial awareness with a good understanding of the business environment including customers, competitors, etc.
* Experience in a fast-paced, people-focused environment, (with unionised or manufacturing experience).
* Experience of project management and prioritising deliverables to independently manage concurrent and multiple business change projects and day to day operations simultaneously.

* Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to relate to, influence and coach managers and employees at all levels of the organisation
* A self-starter, who is performance driven - with a desire to make significant contribution/impact. Is able to work independently and as an active team member.
* A critical thinker - who can understand complex issues (balancing the detail and the big picture), using insight/data (evidence) and their judgement to make good decisions and have a positive impact.

Education and qualifications
A bachelor's degree or equivalent
