A brand new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Training Operations, working for the largest Support Services UK Organisation based in the Portsmouth, providing overall responsibility for the management, performance, continuous improvement and service delivery within the training services sector focusing on Naval technical and tactical training and education.

Primary responsibilities include;

  • Provide delivery assurance and leadership across four main operating sites
  • Robust control of the cost base to continually drive economies and efficiencies in delivery
  • Management of Training Operations through a team of service and department managers, including all training delivery and training support functions across all locations to time and to budget.
  • Overall responsibility for the delivery of key strategic and Continuous Improvement (CI) projects in the areas of Training Planning and Management Information
  • Work closely with and provide support to the Head of Assurance to enable improved quality assurance delivery, compliance and Management Information (MI) across the Sea Training business
  • Ensure successful management of change and CI to ensure continued delivery of customer satisfaction and value for money over the life of the Contract and delivering improvements aligned to agreed Contract extension criteria
  • Maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with the Authority and key stakeholders
  • Day to day management of the performance of the Contract against all KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) to meet service delivery and financial targets
  • Overall responsibility for budgeting and strategic planning and development
  • Contribute to the overall performance of the Sea Training business unit

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree level or equivalent
  • Sound business management and project management experience
  • Proven track record of strategic and operational management within a commercial training organisation
  • Passionate about the safety and welfare of staff with experience of delivering high standards of H&S, security and governance compliance
  • Proven ability to deliver objectives in complex multi stakeholder environment
  • Military training (preferably RN) experience
  • Coaching and Mentoring in Management/Leadership
