The work location is in Paddington, LONDON and is a 6 months contract.

The pay rate on offer is between £900 - £1100 per day.

The role is working for a well established, multi-national retailer and specialises in clothing, home and luxury product.

Key accountabilities of the role

  • The senior technology leader across operations and delivery across multiple functional areas including demonstrating domain knowledge, defined as Portfolios.
  • Act as a strategic, senior business technical advisor, guiding the definition and development of business technology roadmaps, working with Directors / Product Managers / Product Owners / senior Business stakeholders to shape and challenge business and systems requirements for new technology implementations, ensuring optimum use of Technology resources and investments within the functions concerned
  • Ensure the roadmaps are genuinely owned by the business leadership team, while ensuring their delivery of the technology roadmaps and key projects in line with Technology strategy
  • Understand business KPIs to ensure alignment the Technology strategy is influenced to provide support for these KPI's, setting relevant KPIs and objectives for your teams.
  • Support the business in the migration to using the agile approach to deliver new technology change, including working on how requirements and demand is established within the business areas.
  • Manage and co-ordinate complex cross functional technology projects and process changes cross-portfolio areas, while ensuring they fit with Technology priorities and best value in Technology delivery
  • The senior escalation point, with the technology function for major operational incidents related to the portfolio. Provide senior / exec stakeholder communication, working collaboratively with supplier service management and governance to achieve fasted resolution but avoiding double management.
  • Work with suppliers to provide direction setting, ensuring proposals and approaches adherence to the technology strategy
  • Work collaboratively with the suppliers Technology Solutions Management capability to support their engagement with the business, sponsor proposed solutions development, provide overall portfolio governance, budget approval.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement with the partner across delivery and operations to ensure long term improvements to the efficiency of technology delivery.
  • Pro-actively seek relevant external insight, trends and innovations, including ensuring suppliers are pitching new ideas and technologies that are useful to furthering the client's business goals
  • As required, provide proxy oversight of products that do not require ownership within the business, coordinating minor change delivery with supplier.
  • Ensure a culture of facing into and resolving issues that may develop between the client and the technology partners

Key experience

  • Significant levels of experience in business relationship management in an IT environment
  • An expert in building genuine partnerships
  • Senior IT management skills and experience
  • Strong experience of managing successful delivery in an Agile software environment and in delivering waterfall projects to deliver customer-led outcomes
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant business portfolio
  • Excellent Business stakeholder and supplier management skills
  • Strong track record of strategic and innovative thinking
  • Proven track record of driving service and delivery improvement
  • Commercial management experience and financial literacy
