Head of Regulatory Affairs - UK & Ireland, Consumer Healthcare


Location: Surrey

Salary: up to £95,000 + annual bonus, car/ car allowance, benefits package

Head of Regulatory Affairs, Consumer Healthcare - this fantastic new opportunity has just become available with a top 5 Pharmaceutical company, as a result of expansion and strong growth.

As a member of the Country Consumer Health leadership team, you will manage and lead the CHC Regulatory team (5 direct reports), ensuring compliance of the existing CHC portfolio, effective and timely approval of all marketing authorisations, maintenance, providing appropriate input on the development of new products, and shaping the regulatory environment.


  • Manage the Regulatory Affairs function and define local RA priorities
  • Ensure talent management of team members to create a high performing regulatory organisation
  • Manage the local RA budget in collaboration with Regulatory Excellence and the Finance Department.
  • Ensure high quality submissions within timelines agreed with Global Regulatory Affairs, business and/or health authorities.
  • Ensure quality and compliance of local regulatory activities in line with corporate regulatory affairs, national regulations. Ensure maintenance of regulatory databases.
  • Act as interface between the company and local regulatory authorities, and build credible relationships with health authorities
  • Champion the review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials ensuring their competitive position and compliance with local regulations, code of conduct and internal guidelines. As local process owner, lead review process with the responsible functions in the country.
  • Lead development of local strategies and preparation of OTC switches


  • Minimum MS; Pharm D, MD, PhD or equivalent preferred
  • Solid experience in Regulatory Affairs, including leadership roles
  • Ability to lead teams and implement operational regulatory excellence
  • Recognised expert in working in matrix teams
  • Good understanding of the consumer healthcare and pharmaceutical industry
  • Expert knowledge of European and local UK and Irish consumer healthcare regulations and requirements
  • Personal experience with interactions with MHRA and/or HPRA
