My client are a world renowned engineering organisation employing thousands across the globe and are needing a strong Quality professional to fulfil the role of Head of Quality Assurance. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and delivery on Quality priorities, which include the design, development, delivery and maintenance of quality management systems through Quality Engineering, Systems, Product & Process, Quality and Supplier Management.

Key to the role is delivering continuity and consistency on all Quality related priorities across our division, ensuring high Quality levels are achieved in design & production standards through the proactive leadership and direction of a diverse team of Quality professionals & Engineering teams.

You will provide clear leadership and vision, inspiring and motivating employees to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills.

Relationship development is at the heart of this role and with your impeccable communication, interpersonal and influencing skills you will grow our presence within the market, increasing our client and supplier base and driving business development activities throughout the division.

Role responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the development, delivery and maintenance and continuous improvement of quality management systems across the division ensuring both continuity and consistency.
  • Manage, mentor, coach and audit a diverse team of Quality Managers, Technicians and Quality Engineers through the application of quality engineering / management principles, to address part and process issues defining, agreeing and implementing recognised standards and procedures.
  • Facilitate external / internal quality complaint investigations and root cause analysis, for effective containment, followed by prevention. Internal / External compliance with defined industry and business related quality standards.
  • Develop consistent build quality from within the design and processes employed through use of SOP's and subsequent compliance auditing.
  • Support stakeholder meetings on a daily basis reporting on primary quality performance measures and key indicators.


  • Proven experience in a similar role within a quality function and experience of managing within business quality systems.
  • Proven experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven people management and leadership skills.
  • Experience of managing budgets.
  • A proactive attitude, with a continuous focus to resolve problems effectively, improve processes and performance.
