Permanent £80,000 + Benefits

We are looking to recruit a Head of Purchase to Pay (P2P) for a new senior appointment within a FTSE100 engineering and support services business based in Portsmouth.

The organisation are a multinational corporation headquartered in the United Kingdom that specialise in support services, managing complex assets and infrastructure in safety, and mission-critical environments. The role reports into the director of the Shared Service Centre, a centralised function responsible for managing operational tasks such as Finance, IT, Human Resources, Procurement and other key corporate services.

The Head of Purchase to Pay is responsible for developing, driving and leading the P2P elements of an SAP ERP solution alongside the day to day management of the P2P team c.30-40 staff members. This is an embryonic and evolving service therefore the role requires an individual who can monitor, maintain and improve the service as it develops and be accustomed to working in a change orientated environment.

Key outputs/deliverables will be:

  • Embed all required P2P responsibilities within an evolving operating model and associated control framework against which the SSC will provide services to the business
  • Agreed P2P solutions, processes, policies and procedures in support of an SSC model incorporating a continuous improvement capability.
  • Agreed set of P2P Service Definitions and associated Service Level Agreements.
  • Input to and support of a group-wide robust method of financial management of the SSC. Manage the Purchase to P2P services in line with agreed budget/forecast submissions and ensure committed cost savings are delivered.
  • Agreed approach to satisfying any internal and/or external audit requirements specific to P2P activities.
  • Enhance the range of P2P-related services provided by the SSC to the business and ensure regular process improvement reviews are carried out to prove the efficiency of these services.
  • Provide Stakeholder engagement at all levels of the organisation including the preparation and delivery of regular internal customer presentations as well as the facilitation of employee sessions specific to P2P
  • Manage any staff allocated in support of P2P processing in the SSC.
  • To act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in relation to all P2P activities.
  • To seek to expand and improve SSC P2P services within the organisation

Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experienced Purchase to Pay Manager with cross functional experience for a large and varied customer base.
  • Subject matter expert in Purchase to Pay services
  • Recognised qualifications ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CIPS (advantageous but not essential)
  • Experience of major transformation projects in a developing environment
  • Experience of managing large teams
  • Significant exposure to change in large complex organisations using SAP/Oracle
  • The ability to obtain and hold MoD Security Clearance
