Head of Procurement & Supply Chain Bid Development

£75,000 - £85,000 + Car + Bonus & Benefits

We are looking to recruit a Head of Procurement & Supply Chain Bid Development to work for a FTSE 100 engineering services business based in Manchester.

The business are the UK's largest specialist nuclear support services organisation, with a workforce of around 6000 highly-skilled and qualified employees. This expertise, combined with experience as a nuclear site licensee and operator, enables the business to provide safe, effective solutions for the entire nuclear lifecycle, from design and build, through operation and maintenance, to decommissioning, waste management and remediation.

Due to significant growth, the business are looking for a talented individual who can lead and deliver the business's agreed growth programme, through the development of effective bid strategies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct an 'Opportunity Analysis' by reviewing the Sector bid pipeline to identify bids with a material supply chain element.
  • Identify and manage the deployment of the appropriate Procurement subject matter experts to input into key bids.
  • Work alongside the bid teams and the P&SC Director to support the development of proposals and tenders and lead any subsequent supply chain-related customer dialogue where appropriate.
  • Identify the most appropriate supply chain to deliver the capability required to support major new business opportunities.
  • Analyse the competitor landscape to understand any shortfalls or gaps in supply chain capability and solutions.
  • Manage supplier relationships throughout the bid process
  • Establishing appropriate governance processes to ensure that P&SC solutions are tested and approved before being included in bids.
  • Establish a review process to ensure that experience from both successful and unsuccessful bids is obtained and informs future opportunities.
  • Establish clear objectives for team members and set early expectations of high standards, pace and high performance.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with executive level stakeholders across the Sector, particularly the Major Bids Director, working as an integral part of the senior team, to ensure alignment with Sector bid strategies.

Location:

The base location for this position can be Daresbury or Irlam.

Security Clearance:

Successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
