Head of Payroll & HR Services

c£80k plus package

Experis are recruiting on behalf of our Client a leading Engineering Support Services organisation for an individual with strong UK payroll knowledge and experience of leading HR Service functions to head up their Payroll & HR Services function within a Shared Service Centre environment.

The main responsibilities of this role will include -

  • Overall responsibility for the timely, efficient and accurate processing of Payroll & HR transactions within the SSC and for continuously improving all Payroll & HR Processes within the SSC
  • Efficiently and effectively manage the Payroll & HR Teams to ensure high performance, accuracy and SLAs are met
  • As additional Business Units are brought into the SSC, work with BU HR and BU Finance teams to implement processes both within these teams
  • Embed the business-wide standardised Payroll & HR Strategy through the delivery of a first class SSC service
  • Embed a culture of best practice customer service and process excellence to ensure a high standard of quality output is delivered at all times
  • Define and own the Payroll and HR Shared Services SLA obligations in line with cost, quality and control parameters to allow for appropriate KPI reporting
  • Define and deliver a robust governance and control framework for SSC Payroll & HR Services
  • Responsible for overseeing the processing of weekly / monthly payrolls
  • Prompt and accurate processing of all joiner, leaver and change transactions
  • To act as the "subject matter expert" in relation to all Payroll and HR transactional administration activities

The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience -

  • Extensive demonstrable payroll management experience
  • Current experience of managing HR transactional services
  • Ideally hold a recognised Payroll and/or HR qualification or equivalent
  • Significant experience of managing larger teams
  • Ideally SAP Payroll and Success Factors experience
  • Experience of major business change
  • Experience of working in a federated, international business
  • Experience of major transformation projects in a developing environment
  • Able to manage and mitigate constraints, assumptions and risks
