A brand new opportunity has arisen for a Head of Fleet Management to join a leading Support Services Organisation based in Warminster, having overall responsibility for developing and mobilising the Fleet Management service in the Land Defence Sector.

The Head of Fleet Management will lead the growth of a new Fleet Operations function during transition through to full optimisation. They will be responsible for ensuring that vehicles are maintained and managed so that they are available to the Authority in the appropriate condition, when and where required. The Head of Fleet Management will be accountable for ensuring vehicle availability to meet the agreed customer requirements.

Primary responsibilities include;

  • Provide Strategic leadership in the formation of a new team
  • Work with Process Owners, relevant SME's and Super Users to ensure buy-in of the agreed processes and ways of working by the business
  • With the support of SAP consultants and SME's to understand and document the impact to the business of introducing the solution
  • To work with senior business leaders and wider stakeholders to execute the transition plan
  • Engaging with senior members of the business to support sponsorship, leadership engagement and alignment
  • Integrate and optimise the contracts

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience in managing a complex fleet management (vehicles preferred)
  • Experience in transitioning and/or mobilising a Fleet Management capability
  • Ability to manage and lead large and multifunctional teams to successfully execute challenging customer demands
  • Experience in tightly governed project environments
  • Project or Fleet management experience within a similar complex programme / bid environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • A robust personality, proactive, energetic and enthusiastic
  • Background in the Defence industry, including knowledge of central and local government bodies, and a working knowledge of MOD agencies
  • Proficient in MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.
