We are looking to recruit a an experienced Head of Finance for the UK's leading engineering support services organisation to be based in Central London (Vauxhall).

The purpose of the role is to be responsible for all aspects of finance activity within the business stream. This position leads a co-ordinated finance function, designing and delivering insightful, timely and relevant business and financial analysis to improve transparency and efficiency and support growth to maximise profitability of the business. The role should provide a true finance business partner to the business in identifying and helping resolve commercial risks, delivering strategic financial solutions and working to deliver the significant growth aspirations of the business.

Top Major Tasks and Activities:

  • Maintain financial discipline and control with responsibility for reporting on the performance of the P&L and balance sheet and for managing cash flow
  • Managing, reviewing and providing oversight and presentation of the forecasts, budgets and strategic plan financials
  • Responsible for tight balance sheet management and control (with regular balance sheet and contract reviews).
  • Use financial information to constructively challenge current and potential business activity in order to increase profits and improve efficiencies.
  • Actively engage with clients in respect of leading finance and commercial discussions.
  • Be seen as a leader within the finance team, offering supervision, support and development, particularly to direct reports.
  • Lead the development of the financial solution for growth opportunities..
  • Work in conjunction with the Bid teams to create winning opportunities / bids / acquisitions. Co-ordination and presentation of bids and acquisitions as required to the BU, Divisional and Group Management team.

Key Technical Skills

  • Able to prepare and present difficult and complex financial/ operational information in a simple and meaningful way
  • Strong financial analytical experience

  • The ability to manage upwards
  • Skills funding knowledge preferable

  • Key financial bid information for approvals
  • Timely and accurate delivery of BU, Divisional and Group requirements
  • Managing the function in line with the Group's corporate governance policies, processes and procedures including those relating to Health and Safety & IAMM
  • Development of staff
  • Protect assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference
  • Comply with the Data Protection Act 1998

Qualifications

  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA with at least 5+ years PQE
  • High level of computer literacy (incl. Advanced Excel)
  • Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience
