Role Purpose

  • In this job, you'll be accountable for the performance of a major Digital product or group of products. You will operate at the alliance level which is a grouping of tribes (which is a grouping of squads). You will be influencing the experience of millions of customers. This role will have a material impact on the success of the Consumer business. A large number of product owners will be looking to you for leadership and direction.
  • The exact digital products in the scope of any of our roles will evolve over time. We will assign you to an alliance based upon a combination of your background, your development needs and interest and the business need.

Your accountabilities:

  • You will lead, motivate and inspire a high performing team of product owners and ensure that their potential is achieved
  • You will collate, distil and interrogate customer insight and business priorities to create a balanced view of customer needs and business challenges
  • You will define the overarching vision, strategy and objectives for the given digital product(s) managed by your alliance
  • You will create, maintain and regularly iterate a road-map and backlog for your alliance
  • You will prioritise activities based upon achieving validated learning as quickly as possible and maximising customer value
  • You will influence & shape requirements for new initiatives from other areas in Consumer. You will translates these commercial / marketing / service strategies and targets into a digital experience backlog
  • You will create business cases to secure investment and own budgets required to deliver outcomes
  • You will create an engaging and long-lasting connection with stakeholders up to and including the Consumer board.
  • You will help drive the Consumer Digital vision across the business, evangelising digital practises cross-channel and across directorates
