Head of Commercial

FTSE 100 Global Organisation - Competitive Salary and attractive benefits package

A rapidly expanding FTSE 100 organisation are looking to appoint a Head of Commercial within its Skills and Learning division.

The Head of Commercial will be responsible for all aspects of commercial activity within the business unit. This role will be responsible for identifying and mitigating commercial risks in the current operations, delivering commercial solutions for new business opportunities, supporting M&A activities and mitigating a number of legacy commercial issues and risks.

The main responsibilities of this role are as follows -

  • Managing existing customer contracts including negotiating amendments and extensions
  • Developing commercial solutions for new bids
  • Evaluating draft contracts and then negotiating terms and conditions and assessing risk against return
  • Negotiating Settlements and leading compromise negotiations, including arbitration, adjudication and litigation
  • Drafting and amending contracts, subcontracts, JV agreements, licences and other business agreements in relation to each of the above key tasks and activities
  • Management of in house legal counsel and external lawyers
  • Coordinating and providing due diligence support to M&A activities
  • Overseeing risk management and compliance processes for the business unit
  • Management of legal cases and claims
  • Managing and maintaining contract documentation, and ensuring that changes agreed with customers are incorporated into contract amendments
