Head of Bid DeliveryPermanent Warrington HQ - Base location flexible Job Purpose Here at Cavendish Nuclear Ltd we are creating a new centralised bid team to ensure an effective, efficient and agile bid process. This will allow us to work together across the business drawing on our capability, whilst driving best practise in bid delivery. The Head of Bid Delivery will lead this high performing central bid team and have the responsibility for delivery of all bids and proposals across the different Business Units; Clean Energy, NDA & Defence.The bid delivery team are based in Warrington however we can be flexible on location for this role for the right candidate. Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibility for the 'day to day' delivery of all bids & proposals ensuring a 'World Class' win rate is achieved and maintainedManage the bid team with direct line management responsibility for the Bid Managers, Proposal Production Personnel and Respective Leads (e.g. Technical, Estimating, Planning)Accountable to the respective Business Directors with the responsibility to deliver bids & proposals on their behalf ensuring that the annual order intake target is metHave a 'Player Manager' type approach to managing peak demands of bids and therefore would be expected to undertake actual bid management when required to do soAdding value and effective support to the Business Development team during the capture strategy including the involved from the initial stages of the bid process.Working with the Business Development Managers ensure there is a robust bid resource forecast in place at all timesOverall accountability for ensuring the correct resources (skills, location etc.) are available to support all forecasted bids required to deliver the annual order intake.Responsible for managing the proposal review process prior to submission this includes setting the standards for all colour team reviews (Black, Blue, Pink, Green & Red) and Gates 3 & 4Establish effective reporting and analyse performance metrics for the function, this data will feed into the monthly Business Winning reporting processContinually look to identify and implement process improvements to the bid function including having responsibility for delivery of 'Scrum' improvement project to provide continued incremental improvementsAdherence to all company procedures with responsibility for maintaining up to date and 'fit for purpose' Business Winning ProceduresLeading Others: Owns the performance and development of their team members, including effective and ongoing communication and feedbackKey Success Factors:The measurements of success will be: Bid Win Rate <40%Order Book Value <4% CAGR in the Cavendish Nuclear Order IntakeCustomer Bid Scoring & Feedback.Maintenance of working practices, processes & environment consistent with Company, Regulation and Legislative safety & environmental requirements.Experience/Qualifications/SkillsEssential:Evidence of successful achievements in managing a bid function, including team managementDemonstrable evidence of successfully delivering and securing complex bids to tight deadlinesAn excellent communicator with the ability to influence at a senior level with experience in working with senior management to manage delivery of timelines and outputs.Must have experience of working in a large corporate/business focused environment.Excellent project management skills with strong focus on attention to detail, proven track record of successfully delivering multiple projects on time.Commercially aware with solid business development and financial management skills.Confident, ambitious and energetic with a persuasive manner and the ability to use your initiative.Proven capacity to effectively manage complex proposal development processes, as well as manage and mentor staff with various levels of skills and experience.Demonstrated achievement in the design and implementation of tender documents.Strong organisational skills and ability to manage complex bids with multiple and shifting priorities Desirable:Ability to analyse complex client needs and determine a suitable response.Demonstrate an ability to advise and influence both internally and externally.Ability to challenge in a non-confrontational way.Positive, professional, with the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and environment.Actively focused on achieving results and objectives and willing to be accountable.Build and maintain relationships with appropriate networks of people.Experience of working in a direct client liaison role.Excellent proficiency in MS Office and Adobe.Membership of an industry professional body.
