Head of Analytics and Reporting

Location: Osterley, West London

Duration: Initial 6 Months

Who you'll be working with

Based in Osterley, our Technology team is one of the largest technical hubs in the UK, it's a strategic location for our business and offers a vibrant place to live and work.

Your key responsibilities

The Head of Analytics and Reporting is responsible for the reporting and analytics tools relating to Sky's OTT propositions across territories. They will manage a distributed team of developers, testers and solution managers. You will be expected to have working knowledge of large BI implementations to help drive all the trading and viewing reporting for the business. As Head of Analytics you will need to forge strong relationships with the product and insight teams, maintain the current systems and drive forward and transformation programmes that are required.

  • Line Management
  • Define the target operating model and working best practices
  • Manage any organisational change related to the re-platforming
  • Build and develop reporting and analytics tools to improve Sky's decision making capability and embed data-drive decision making
  • Forge strong relationships with the stakeholders that will be using the tools and systems related to this area.
  • Work closely with the other technology teams to help build a world class platform

Your Skills:

  • Previous experience managing departmental organisational changes across locations
  • Building delivery structures and high performing teams using agile delivery methods
  • Technical knowledge of big data platforms, ETL tools and appliances like Netezza
  • Detailed knowledge of the "SMACK Stack"
  • Experience of visualisation tools like tableau and hive
  • Previous experience of dealing with C Level stakeholders
  • Experience of working with Data Scientists understanding role and benefits
  • Experience of managing development teams working on the large BI projects focussing on real time processing
  • Experience working across multiple territories.
  • Significant commercial experience in managing delivery and an integrated release process in an online environment.
  • Significant commercial exposure to the use of Agile methodologies within the SDLC
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Significant commercial experience of managing and releasing complex technology products
  • Committed to developing a 'can-do' culture
  • Managing self-organising teams.
  • Proven ability to manage software delivery using a variety of (Waterfall and Agile) methods
  • People Management - particularly managing people without direct authority.
  • Communication skills - credible with senior management, good at conflict resolution
