Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Electrical Fitter

A market leading FTSE 100 Defence organisation is currently recruiting for a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Electrical Fitter to take on permanent positions ASAP. The company is highly regarded for its employee recognition and vital position in today's market place. You will be a driven individual who is looking to work in a fast paced environment with supportive team in a diverse and challenging environment.

You will be providing a key contribution to the output of the Forward Equipment Support Facility, this role requires the successful candidate to Provide Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Electrical services to the contracting authority and, when required undertake PAT testing in accordance with statutory legislation, local orders and extant manufacturers' instructions.

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Major Ground Support Equipment servicing and repair
  • Minor Ground Support Equipment, Frontline, OSME and Miscellaneous equipment servicing and repair
  • PAT Testing as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences

  • To have served an Electrical Apprenticeship or similar experience gained as a member of the Armed Forces.
  • Current and valid driving licence.
  • Possessing Electrical Regulations to the 17th Edition would be an advantage (Desirable)
  • Highly developed problem solving skills and the ability to apply them in a support environment.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to interface at all levels with the Authority and industry on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and under own initiative in order to meet specific guidelines.
  • Have a good level of customer service and focus.
  • Have a positive attitude and demonstrate a flexible approach against requirements.
  • Eligible for SC Clearance (Essential)
