Typical activities may include;

  • Drafting test specifications and schedules.
  • Conduct radio link testing in a laboratory environment.
  • Support off-site trials, this may include deployment of system as part of a team.
  • Supporting system integration into military platforms.
  • Trouble-shooting communications system issues
  • To collate data, conduct analysis and provide an effective presentation of test results
  • Providing reports - Test results, progress reports to a project manager or senior test engineer.
  • Providing a presentation to a small group.

  • Able to work collaboratively within teams
  • Aptitude for practical, hands-on work, e.g. integration and test activities
  • Able to follow processes and procedures, and able to work responsibly in safety-critical environments, e.g. in and around military platforms.

  • On occasions, willing to travel within the UK and potentially overseas.

  • Consultancy skills - interaction with various stakeholders.
  • System Engineering - engineering lifecycle from requirements capture through acceptance, design, manufacture and introduction into Service.
  • Security - Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC), Communications Security.
  • Technical research - in voice, data, networking and multimedia technologies and services.
  • Design, development and integration of applications into complex deployed communications systems.
