Fancy working for a major multinational mass media and information client? We are currently recruiting a highly experienced Full Stack Developer (Python & Node.JS) for a 3 month initial contract based in London. The successful candidate will be starting in August 2017.

Role Summary:

We are looking for a spectacular developer who is keen to help us develop products and MVPs within our clients Labs. You will be responsible for designing, developing and collaborating with other team members to produce high quality, scalable and secure applications using AWS.

We work through the whole software development lifecycle with a lightweight Agile approach and we use the latest tools and processes to ease our lives as developers with a strong focus on software quality.

You will work closely with our development team and with the product and proposition team to create world-class products.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Is fully competent in one or more programming languages, software engineering methodologies, software development tools.
  • Expert skills and experience working in Python and NodeJS.
  • Unix environment and Bash scripting
  • RESTful API design and implementation and messaging system experience
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and network protocols
  • Strong understanding of Algorithms and Data Structures
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)
  • Experience of unit testing, code management tools and design tools.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong problem solving capabilities

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in delivering scalable distributed computing with fault tolerance
  • Blockchain experience using the Ethereum fabric
  • Understanding and experience of cloud infrastructure like Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Relational and NoSQL database technologies
  • Docker and containerized applications
  • Front-end web development skills: HTML5/CSS, Javascript
  • DevOps experience: configuration management, containers, virtualization, continuous integration
  • Open source advocacy and participation
