My client, a well-known Oil and Gas industry leader based near Newcastle, is currently seeking an FP&A Analyst to join their Engineering business in a business partnering style role for an initial 6-month contract. You should ideally immediately available or on a maximum of 2 week's notice and be able to work via your own limited company or an umbrella company. You must have the right to work in the UK currently and for the duration of the contract. Successful candidates will undergo a DBS check upon acceptance of any offer, which must be fully completed ahead of starting the role.

The Role

The Finance Analyst will be involved in a wide range of finance activities for the Engineering business, from setting up expense and capex projects to providing quarterly forecast and labour productivity metrics.
This role will be responsible for supporting key FP&A processes by creating adequate templates, consolidating inputs and ensuring accuracy of final product.

Key Activities

· Create synergies between Finance and Engineering, partnering with Engineering and product line leaders to drive business investment and performance
· Support key day to day reporting and analytics, working directly with Engineering team to drive key operational decisions and outcomes
· Lead the financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting, explaining variance to forecasts
· Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting (e.g. capital allocation and investment return analysis, labour rate analysis, labour utilisation)
· Provide visibility on planning and actuals analysis of both financial and operational metrics
· Involvement in process improvement/ simplification projects
· Develop digital finance tools to automate key analytics and decision-making tools for Engineering leadership

Qualifications / Requirements

· Qualified Accountant with 3-5 year's relevant finance experience in an FP&A / Business Partnering function
· Solid PC skills including strong Excel/Powerpoint skills and experience of Oracle (or a similar ERP system eg SAP)
· Strong analytical and communication skills
· Stakeholder management skills; Confidence to interact and influence people of a non-finance nature at a senior level
· Ability to set targets and lead teams to achieve targets
