About the role

Here at Babcock International we are looking to recruit a Forecasting & Inventory Planning Specialist for a new permanent position based in Telford.

At our site in Telford we are involved in the repair and overhaul of military air and land equipment, we provide mobile and in-barracks equipment support, fleet management and logistic support.

The post holder will be required to report to the Forecasting Planning and Inventory Manager

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and running the forecasting and planning cycles for all authority inventory and the
  • Management and delivery of the consumables inventory strategy.
  • Inputting to the Strategic Forecasts and Requirement Plans in order to create an Inventory Delivery Plan (IDP) which would meet the contracted customer Key Performance Measures and yearly allocated budget requirements.
  • Forecast requirement and at the same time identifying and enabling risk aversion opportunities.
  • Ensure a successful implementation of the new forecasting software into the new MRP system (SAP)
  • Lead the consumables team members into finding more efficient ways of working

What do I need to do the role?

Technical Experience and Qualifications

  • A degree or relevant professional qualification (NVQ 4, HND, Graduate Diploma, BTEC, PG Dip, etc.) and have recent, relevant experience in a senior supply chain role in a complex
  • organisation
  • Strong understanding of inventory management evidenced through extensive practical experience and a recognised qualification
  • Excellent organisational skills and expertise in managing forecasts and plans and ensuring objectives are met within tight deadlines.
  • An ability to develop and sustain relationships with individuals at all levels in an organisation (both internal and external), including the ability to engage with and influence stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience of developing outputs, reports, and presentations.
  • Strong leadership and collaborative working skills, and facilitation and mentoring skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence
