About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Fitter to join a FTSE 250 Aerospace Organisation. Headquartered in the UK, my client is a global engineering group specialising in extreme environment components and smart sub-systems for aerospace, defence and energy markets. Some 12,200 people are employed across manufacturing facilities in Asia, Europe and North America and regional bases in Brazil, India and the Middle East.
You will be working within the Composites Sector on Radome contracts for Military Aircraft with bespoke composites and tooling. You will operate as a multi-skilled, adaptable worker to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency and have a full knowledge of processes and tools used with composites and metallics in the aircraft industry:
- Setting structures in trim and assembly jigs
- Drill/Ream/Countersink in panels with Vanmar tools
- Fettling using appropriate tools and equipment
- Mixing and used of adhesives and sealants
- Percussion riveting
- Treatment touch-up in localised areas on aluminium
Full training is provided and is an excellent opportunity for someone with a manufacturing/fitting background to move in to a new sub-section of the industry.
What do I need to do the role?
You will need to have extensive experience of fitting with composite materials within the aerospace or automotive industries.
