Financial Analyst (Financial Planning & Analysis)

My Client is looking for an experienced FP&A Analyst to join the team in Cramlington, for an initial 6-month project.

The Finance analyst will be responsible for supporting key FP&A processes by creating adequate templates, consolidating inputs and ensuring accuracy of final product. Involved in wing to wing finance activities of the engineering function from setting up expense and capex projects to providing quarterly forecast and labour productivity metrics.

Key activities:

Partner with Engineering and product line leaders to drive business investment and performance

Hold rhythms and create synergies between finance and engineering

Lead the finance closing process to ensure timely and accurate reporting, explaining variance to forecasts.

Provide visibility on planning, pacing and actuals analysis of both financial and operational metrics

Implement simplification and process improvement projects

Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting e.g. capital allocation and investment return analysis, labour rate analysis, labour utilisation etc.

Essential responsibilities:

Support key day to day reporting and analytics, working directly with Engineering team to drive key operational decisions and outcomes

Develop digital finance tools to automate key analytics and decision-making tools for Engineering leadership

Qualifications / Requirements:

Qualified Accountant with minimum of 3-5 years relevant finance experience

Solid PC skills, advanced Excel

Strong analytical and communication skills … working across multiple levels

Confidence / Assertiveness: possess influencing skills in order to achieve business objectives

Experience of working with Oracle
