£40000 + Bonus + Healthcare

We are seeking applications for a Financial Accountant to join the finance team of a global pharmaceutical business from their UK centre of excellence in Swindon.

Their highly skilled, dedicated global team of over 9,500 is passionate about improving the health of patients by combining their personal expertise with advanced technologies to advance science and supply innovative new products of the highest quality to patients globally.

We require a Financial Accountant to join the organisations Swindon manufacturing facility. This role will manage the external reporting obligations of the Swindon group of entities and will drive compliance and control.

Role Description:

This role involves the management of several statutory reporting entities (holding and investment companies) as well as strong compliance and control objectives within the main trading entity on the Swindon site; this includes daily contact with the senior leadership team.

  • Manage the annual audit process for the Swindon group
  • Manage the delivery of UK statutory accounts for the five entities
  • Prepare detailed tax analysis for external review, including quarterly tax packs for US reporting
  • Manage the UK banking arrangements including key relationships and banking software administration
  • Covenant monitoring and quarterly reporting to the Trustees of the pension scheme
  • Meet with the senior leadership team to improve control and understanding of cost drivers; identifying opportunities and working to realise targeted efficiencies
  • Lead the annual budget process in respect of base costs, working with senior leadership team
  • Identify and implement financial controls as identified over processes and systems
  • Cash flow and working capital management
  • Ensure accurate headcount tracking and forecasting, working closely with HR and business leadership team


Internal compliance and reporting:

  • Manage Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) process
  • Lead the drive towards improved PO compliance
  • Assist Financial Controller and Controllership team to meet the two day reporting deadline
  • Review of control environments throughout the business, suggesting control improvements where identified
  • Act as the internal technical expert deputising for the Financial Controller


Key Skills & Experience:

  • ACA 1-2 years post qualified
  • Familiarity with UK and US GAAP
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and/or Hyperion (HFM) an advantage
  • Strong Excel
  • Demonstration of strong communication skills at all levels. The role will require regular contact with finance personal internal and external to the site as well as non-finance personal
