Financial AccountantHamilton About the roleHere at Babcock we are currently recruiting a Financial Accountant to join our Rail Engineering business on a permanent, full time basis.You will report directly into the Financial Controller, managing all aspects of statutory reporting and financial accounting.This is the perfect opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to take on their next exciting reporting role, within a large global business working in a unique sector.The role will suit someone ambitious and inquisitive, who is willing to challenge the existing processes with the view to making improvements.You will have exposure to senior management within Babcock and there are possibilities for further progression within the organisation, secondments / projects with other finance teams.Duties will include:Financial accounting transactions as required including maintaining fixed asset register, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany management and investigation.Business improvements - development and review - for all aspects of accounting, reporting and forecasting, including variance analysisManage functional Overheads monthly reporting & forecastingResponsible for the VAT and other business tax processes and accountingInterfacing with external auditors, including management of deliverables and other ad hoc audit requirements What do I need to do the role?Recognised professional qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMAExperience of audit and statutory accounts processes, gained through professional practice (desirable)Up to date knowledge of latest accounting standards - IFRS and UK GAAPHighly Proficient with the use of Microsoft ExcelAmbitious and career-orientated What else do I need to know?We are based at Hamilton, G72Parking and other facilities on siteCompetitive annual salary, plus pension and other flexible benefits About Babcock InternationalFor more than a century, Babcock has been trusted to deliver bespoke, highly-skilled engineering services.
