My client, a well known Aerospace company based in Cheltenham, is currently seeking a Finance Business Partner to join them on a 6 month contract.

You should ideally be immediately available or on a maximum of 2 week's notice.

Role Summary

This position based in the UK reporting team and reports to the Finance Leader.

In this role, you will utilise your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and will have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential responsibilities

  • Working closely with Programme Directors, Programme Managers, Sales leads & other key stakeholders to understand, communicate, drive & influence results.
  • Presentation of clear and compelling data analysis to facilitate decision making. This role will also be required to synthesise trends and financial information and make viable recommendations for action.
  • The Business Partner will provide insight to assist programme teams & make recommendations on risk mitigation / additional profit & cash generation ideas.
  • In depth analysis & consolidation of long term financial plans for business segments.
  • In depth analytics of current year financial performance versus plan & communication thereof.
  • Work across the organisation's cross functionally to perform detailed review & assessment of bid financials as part of review & submission process.
  • Develop, manage & update the financial model from a profit & cash perspective to assess each campaign.
  • Developing scenario/sensitivity analysis for the most critical variables in bid proposal.
  • Drive for effective and accurate deal presentation, review and approval with senior management.
  • Programme support: Financial co-ordination of project activities and analysis of the overall programme profitability from deal inception through to product launch.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Degree qualified
  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Relevant post qualification experience in a large company

Desired Characteristics

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proven record working within a manufacturing and/or engineering environment
  • Understanding of key Accounting standards (IFRS and US GAAP depending upon role)
  • Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve financial issues.
  • Ability to recognise the need for, and drive, process improvements and efficiencies
  • Understanding of key Accounting standards
  • Be able to develop strong cross functional relationships & networks
  • Experienced in managing or influencing teams/individuals
