Finance Analyst - LONDON - £300 per day - 3 - 6 Months

The work location is in Paddington, LONDON and is a 3 - 6 months contract.

The pay rate is £300 per day.

The role is working for a well established, multi-national retailer and specialises in clothing, home and luxury product.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • This role ensures delivery of financial evaluations for all property developments - including new store openings and actions required to deliver the UK store estate programme
  • Own robust business cases for all store estate planning including options to close, extend or downsize stores for sign off by the Property Board
  • Support the location planning team with modelling appraisals for new stores or relocations
  • Own the Capital Evaluation Models used for new store, downsize and closure evaluations ensuring there are adequate controls in place
  • Annually undertake a Post Investment Review of store estate actions and use learnings to update the assumptions in the Capital Evaluation Model
  • Provide ad-hoc modelling, including financial support for Property transactions/acquisitions e.g. reviewing sale and lease back opportunities, lease surrender deals or other capital investments
  • Responsible for collating the Monthly Property Board pack including all evaluation models and investment tracker schedules
  • Responsible for providing space and store opening data for business planning and forecasting
  • Quarterly provide store count and space information to Investor Relations for use in external communications

Key experience:

  • Qualified accountant with strong financial evaluation capabilities, experience building and business cases. Full understanding of financial evaluation metrics, their uses and limitations and inter-relationships
  • Commercial awareness to add challenge and insight to development business appraisals
  • Ability to work closely with and influence non-financial colleagues, including ability to present complex information credibly to members of the property leadership team
  • Ability to maintain and further enhance controls and process and ability to implement change
  • Strong analytical capabilities, comfortable working with and accurately manipulating data to provide accurate and insightful reporting
  • Good IT skills, including advanced excel capabilities
  • Strong team player but also happy to work independently on own initiative
