Role: Fielding Project Manager

Location: Bristol

Duration: Initially until 31/03/21

Rate: Negotiable

Clearance: SC / DV

The GPS Maritime Fielding Project Manager will be part of a small team, working with the Customer's Trials and Fielding Team and the BPSS Engineering Team.

The project will follow MOD processes and procedures and as such it would be beneficial to have an understanding of Defence and Defence Digital ways of working.

Project Management Skills:

  • Ability to Create and Manage Technical Work Breakdown Structure from concept through to initialisation - with particular focus on fielding.
  • Ability to Sequence Technical Work Packages in a methodical order into timelines.
  • Creation and management of Project, Planning, Transition & RAIDO Artefacts .
  • Ability to create from scratch Management information for Senior Officer presentation.
  • Industrial and Key Stakeholder Facing Skills:
  • Ability to attend Industry Meetings and create briefs for MOD senior Management.
  • Understand the Platform Integration and Fielding and the specialist rules which apply.
  • Ability to engage with Maritime acceptance authorities and agree required Trials and acceptance criteria for GPS Maritime Fielding on behalf of the authority.

Specialist MOD Skills:

  • Recent experience (e.g within last 3 years) of working with MOD delivery team.
  • Ability to operate autonomously in the MOD Environment.
  • Create MOD Technical reports.
  • Ability to engage with Front Line Command
  • MOD Fielding experience (Essential), Navy Trials and acceptance experience (highly desirable)
