Permanent

About the role

Here at Cavendish Nuclear we are looking to recruit a Field Services Engineer based in our facility at the Science and Technology Park near Berkeley, Gloucestershire. You will join a team that has vast experience with supporting the nation's power stations and provide professionally competent specialist services to our many clients.

You will be responsible for delivering an array of supportive tasks in order to meet the business objectives of our customers in the nuclear power generation and decommissioning sector as well as smaller bespoke organisations.

The services are predominantly the testing of filtration plant within ventilation systems to ensure compliance against regulatory and environmental standards and site licence conditions. Other services include the maintenance and calibration of installed specialist leak test equipment and refitting of filter inserts.

Although this is supporting clients in the nuclear industry we will consider applicants from all backgrounds including but not limited to Oil & Gas, Water, Chemical and Defence. We will also provide on the job training to ensure you can fulfil the role requirements.

This is a highly rewarding position working within a market leading nuclear engineering organisation that will give you the opportunity to develop your skills and experience across a variety of nuclear projects. We support UK and international nuclear power stations with a range of services and strive to be best in class across our various contracts.

Role requirements

You will need to have experience from either an Engineering or Scientific background and a working knowledge in industry, preferably with site experience in the nuclear or other high hazard industry.

We would also like you to have all or some experience with the below duties;

  • Carrying out data analysis and prepare and verify test reports.
  • Planning and delivering task and service objectives in a flexible manner in order to meet time, quality, and cost requirements.
  • Working effectively in a team and providing practical solutions to changing 'on the ground' situations.
  • Identifying continuous improvements and innovations in service provision.

What else do I need to know?

  • Although the base location is the Gloucestershire Science and Technology Park, approximately 50% of your time on average will be spent away working at client sites across the country, including occasional weekend working.
  • There is an on-call demand every 3-4 weeks once suitably qualified.
  • A full, in date driving licence is required.
